This is not pole weaving agility, nothing against it at all…..it’s just different.
We are applying communication, stress, and team work to build confidence on both ends of the leash along with problem solving skills.
While it is awesome to watch a dog scale up a ladder without struggle that is not the point. The point is the work that was done prior to build clarity, trust, confidence and the ability to climb the ladder. It makes both ends of the leash very in sync and well rounded.
Agility is the single most important work you can do to build trust between you and the dog. Most are surprised at what their dog is truly capable of and it’s only because you’ve never tapped into it. Believe it or not the dog is learning what you as a handler are capable of also.
Not only is agility great physical work for the dog but the mental work is phenomenal.
We look at agility like an artist learning another language to become more creative in their craft. Learning to be bilingual opens up other Neural Pathways in the brain which helps them in their work . Agility does the same for the dog.
